File setup guide

Simple print prep guidance so your job comes out sharp. If you’re unsure, request an artwork check in your quote.

Glossary (quick)

  • Bleed: extra background beyond trim (usually 3mm).
  • Trim line: where the cutter cuts.
  • Safe area: keep text 3–5mm inside trim.
  • DPI: image resolution (aim for 300dpi).
  • CMYK: print colour mode (RGB is screens).

Recommended export settings

InDesign / IllustratorPDF “Press Quality” + embed fonts + include bleed.
CanvaDownload “PDF Print” + crop marks/bleed where available.
Photoshop300dpi, CMYK if possible, save as PDF.
